An organization can frequently realize performance gains through improved performance management. Both public and private sector organizations have increased their use of performance tools for planning, monitoring, managing and measuring performance. Various performance management frameworks are used by these organization. This course will focus on the two performance management systems mainly Balanced Scorecards and Open Performance Review and Appraisal System (OPRAS), analyzing their differences and similarities in their application.

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Know how to improve their day-to-day performance
  2. Develop objectives, measures and targets that are aligned to the Balanced Scorecard and OPRAS;
  3. Understand how to cascade the corporate scorecard and strategic objectives to lower levels;
  4. Appreciate the challenges and strategies for cascading objectives and the balanced scorecard;
  5. Develop corporate scorecards and/or performance targets that can be institutionalized upon return to their organization
  6. Deal with Difficult Performance Management Issues

The course is aimed at staff members who are responsible for managing performance in the organization, particularly, team leaders, managers, supervisors and other staff who faces performance challenges in the workplace.
