The Institute of Accountancy Arusha is a public Higher Learning Institution under the Ministry of Finance and Planning. Its aim is to offer equal and inclusive education and services to the public in general.
The Institute understands the effects of gender inequality, sex discrimination and sexual harassment, to its performance and development of the Institute at large. That being the case IAA has made a number of efforts to ensure equal, free and decent working and academic environment to all its stakeholders. Challenges related to gender inequality, sex discrimination and the acts of sexual harassment have been reported in higher institutions in Tanzania in which IAA is not exclusive.
In this light, the Institute formed a Gender and Inclusivity Desk which its function among others, is to address issues related to Gender Based Violence (GBV), carry mechanism of reporting incidences of GBV, prompt handling of cases, sensitize and advocate gender equality and inclusiveness to student, staff and the general public around IAA. Therefore, the Desk invites all individuals within IAA Community and public at large to visit the Desk in case of any incident related to gender violence.
